Inspect marketplace history
Find retained purchases and sales, inspect the evidence behind a match and keep unknown financial values distinct from zero.
Open Marketplace history from a market's Trading activity, or choose it as the Record source in Purchases or Sales. It shows retained marketplace observations separately from contract-attributed records. You need permission to view this history in the current workspace.
Find a record
- Search by item name and choose the relevant account. If account lookup is unavailable to your role, use the Exact account field with the recorded account name.
- Use Records to choose all records, matched purchases and sales, purchases only or sales only.
- Choose Sale source when you need CSFloat or SalesPanel observations, and set the date range if needed.
- Read the displayed result and time. More records load as you move through the collection; the loaded count is not a claim that the entire history is already on screen.
- Select a row to inspect its attribution, amounts and source identifiers.
When a filter changes, previous results can remain visible while the new read completes. Wait for the updated result before treating a visible row as a match for the new filter. Trades without retained history will not appear in this view.
Read amounts with their basis
The list labels sale proceeds as Net when usable net evidence exists, otherwise Gross when gross evidence is available. Open the record to inspect both values, purchase cost and fee separately.
| Evidence | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Observed | The value carries observed-source evidence. |
| Derived | The value was derived from other evidence. |
| Estimated | The value carries an estimate. |
| Unknown or not recorded | The available evidence does not establish the value. |
Gross proceeds precede fees. Missing fees, purchase cost or net proceeds are not treated as zero. A recorded 0.00 remains a recorded value; it does not fill in another missing amount. A value without a usable currency cannot be read as USD by assumption.
Profit may remain unestablished even when a sale amount is known. Read the attribution explanation instead of subtracting unrelated records or assuming an unmatched item had no acquisition cost.
Inspect the match and source
The Attribution section explains whether a purchase and sale were matched or why the evidence is incomplete. A purchase-only or sale-only row is useful evidence on its own; it does not prove the other side never happened.
Check the account, event time and recorded source identities. Where supplied, purchase and sale sections expose their own timestamps, asset identifiers, source record IDs and Steam offer links. Use those identities to distinguish records with the same item name. The page does not invent a contract link or an account that the source does not establish.
Follow the account link when it is available, then use browser Back to return to the history and inspection. If a later read no longer includes the selected row in the loaded pages, the page explains that it is not currently loaded. This does not confirm deletion.
Check freshness separately
A successful history read returns retained observations. It does not prove that a provider was polled just now, that initial history collection is complete, or that reporting is currently healthy.
If the current read fails, the page can keep the last recorded evidence with a warning. Use the displayed retry action and keep that warning with any interpretation of the result. An empty successful result is different from a read failure.
For contract-attributed delivery and sale evidence, return to Purchases and Sales. For the saved reporting connection, see market settings.
